The Lake County Community Economic Development Department oversees HUD and HOME Grant revenues for 17 of the 20 municipal jurisdictions in Lake County. It provides access to business capital through the Lake County Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) and a number of other business finance and business assistance programs. This can be direct assistance or indirect assistance via referral.
Primary projects include home rehabilitation loans, first-timer’s home buying, forgivable loans, community block grant projects, and various emergency grant programs. The department also has two other tasks devoted to economic development. The Industrial Loan Fund program for equipment and physical plant operations and the creation and administering of Economic Development Areas to develop Tax Increment Financing Districts to foster job growth in the county.
We are excited to have Timothy Brown at our meeting. Come out and hear how this Lake County Indiana department has helped others and may be able to help members of the NICIA. Doors open at 6:00 pm for registration, members and first time guests attend for free.
